When you want to lose weight, the most important thing is to watch what you eat. A lot of people may skip breakfast and eat a big portion of brunch instead. Researchers have shown that people can get irritable, tired and have trouble focusing if they don’t eat breakfast. Remember, you’ve already gone 8 to 10 hours without food from the night before.  Eating breakfast helps reduce a) obesity, high blood pressure, and heart disease.  Moreover, choose cereal as your breakfast at least three times a week because it contains more fiber and calcium than other breakfast foods.

當你想要減肥的時候, 最重要的就是看你吃了甚麼。很多人多半不吃早餐, 稍後卻吃下很大份量的早午餐。研究顯示,在不吃早餐的狀況之下,人會變得易怒、疲倦、及無法集中注意力。要記住,你從昨夜到吃早餐之前已經有8-10小時未進食了。 吃早餐可以減少肥胖、降低血壓、以及減少心臟病的產生。此外, 選擇早餐時,一個禮拜至少吃三次麥片, 因為它比其它類的早餐富含更多的纖維及鈣質。    

 

Next, order the smallest portion of everything when you eat out. People tend to eat what’s in front of them because their 1) eyes are always bigger than their stomachs. Researchers found that for those who eat two or more daily servings of whole grains were 50% less likely to be overweight than those who eat white foods. Do eat protein but if something was liquid when heated but solid when it’s cold (ex. Bacon grease), it will do the same in your veins and b) arteries!! Don’t eat it!!

接下來,當你外食點餐時,儘量點小份的餐點。人們往往因為貪心而吃下眼前所有的食物。研究報告指出,在選擇餐點時,那些每天吃兩份以上的全麥食物的人,其體重超重的比例會比專吃加工類食品的人少一半。儘量選擇含蛋白質的食物,但是, 如果某些食物熱的時候呈現液態, 冷了就變成固態的食物(例如培根的油)就絕對不要去碰。因為這類的東西會在你的血管及動脈裡產生相同的反應。

  

You should eat fruit instead ofdrinking high calorie fruit juice because the skin and flesh of the fruit provides fiber. These whole foods will keep you satisfied much longer than that box of fruit juice, so you'll eat less overall.

你應該要吃水果來取代高熱量的果汁, 因為水果的果皮及果肉富含纖維。這種食物比盒裝的水果汁更能讓你有飽足感,相對的你也會吃得比較少。

 

Another tip for helping you to eat less will be the color “blue”. Psychologists suggest that people can use blue plates to serve meals because it suppresses c) appetites. Avoid eating in dining rooms or kitchens where encouraging colors like red, orange, and yellow are found. 

另一個減低食慾的辦法就是”藍色”。心理學家建議人們用藍色的碗盤來盛裝食物,因為這個顏色會讓人降低食慾。儘量避免在佈置成紅色、橘色、或黃色的飯廳或廚房裡用餐,這些是會讓人增進食慾的顏色。

 

2) Last but not least, take a walk, a bike ride, a hike, or swimming…just do SOMETHING to get moving will also help you losing weight.  

最後,走路、騎自行車、爬山、或游泳……只要動起來就可以幫助你減肥。
