Tigerair Taiwan defends actions over measles-stricken cabin crew

On Thursday 5th April 2018, budget carrier – Tigerair Taiwan released a statement confirming the immediate suspension of two cabin crew members infected with measles.

CDC (Centers for Disease Control) is currently monitoring 852 people, who were exposed to the contact with one of the cabin crew staffs over her six flights during the eight-day window of infection for measles.

In the statement, Tigerair emphasized the misdiagnosis of the measles with the common cold, since the first symptoms are quite similar and include: fever, coughing and a runny nose.

The international ongoing investigation was initiated in Japan, which reported the case's risks directly to Taiwan's government. The problematic plane departed from Taiwan and arrived in Japan.
