這句英文怎麼說?注意：用中文思考，就會說錯！

表達後悔，中文說「早知道」，英文則用“if”，也就是假設語氣，它能用在表示後悔、遺憾或是與事實相反的句子裡。請藉由以下五題考考自己的實力。

I could do better on the test, but I ran out of time. 我本來可以考得更好，但我寫不完。
What a great gift! You shouldn’t! 禮物超讚的！你太客氣了啦！
If I will have enough money, I will marry you. 如果我有足夠的錢，我就娶妳。

對於過去應該做到卻沒做到的事，表遺憾或後悔，句型是：情態助動詞（could, might, should, would）加完成式（have p.p.）。
What a great gift! You shouldn’t have!
You shouldn’t have是You should not have gotten me a gift的省略說法，客氣用語。shouldn’t have + p.p.是表示「原本不應該...」的意思。
If I have enough money, I will marry you.
if所引導的假設語氣中，主要子句(I will marry you)表示結果，需要情態助動詞（will, would, can, could, may, might），if從屬子句則不可加助動詞。

本題是與現在事實相反的情況：你沒有同意這價格，所以我到這裡來和你見面。與現在事實相反的假設語法是用過去簡單式。
